Sugar Cane

Sugar Cane has been a staple of Belize since the Mayan and Mestizo refugees who fled Mexico in 1848. There are more than 5,000 independent sugar cane farmers.

The challenge is the lack of effective equipment and the rate of pay for those working in the industry.

It is not apparent whether we will consume an existing manufacturing plant, or we’ll grow sugar cane and sell it to an existing processing plant.
